Fredric Riskin
Excerpt from Sub Rosa (detail), 1987
Description
SUB ROSA was an intelligence project which originated with the recruitment of a psychic versed in "remote viewing", the art of projecting thought across great distances to receive an image from that location. The psychic's vision included certain events familiar to us all – one uncomfortably familiar scenario was the KAL jet which was shot out of the sky.
SUB ROSA, an exhibition of photographs, text and sound, takes us inside the dark world of counterintelligence and delves into these games of national security and their sinister consequences.
SUB ROSA is the premiere of Part Two of a Trilogy. It is Fred Riskin's first exhibition at Ronald Feldman Fine Arts.
The public is invited to an opening reception for the artist on Saturday, April 25, from 5-7 p.m. The gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10-6 Mondays by appointment. For further information and publicity photographs, please contact Susan Yung at (212)226-3232.
