Description

Clemens Weiss, whose work has never been exhibited before, has been developing three forms of installations over the last ten years. These installations are comprised of transparent and irregular box like structures that contain drawings, sculpture, painting, writing and objects. Clemens Weiss will exhibit Installation No. 2 at Ronald Feldman Gallery.

The first form of installation transforms a familiar setting. For example, one installation evokes the feeling of being in a church although it resembles a traditional desk.

Installation No. 2 is an example of the second form of installation in which the artist uses artworks of different media creating a ?laboratory? for the study and questioning of all aspects of art.

The third type of installation is composed of boxes or layers of information in the form of drawings, writings and objects. Some stacks of drawings, etc. alternate with sheets of glass, separated by wood sections covered with arithmetical writing. The effect is that of a scientific information bank.
