[Sam Van Aken](https://feldmangallery.com/artist-home/sam-van-aken) A Tree Grows in Utica - with 40 Different Fruits The Observer-Dispatch Apr 27, 2017 "Blossoms of several shades will eventually erupt from branches bearing 40 different kinds of fruit on a tree located outside Sculpture Space in Utica. Syracuse artist Sam Van Aken has grown and planted nearly 20 of these trees, which he calls the “Tree of 40 Fruit,” around the country. Utica is the latest city to join the list. The local tree was unveiled at 5 p.m. Friday as part of Sculpture Space’s Tree-mendous Celebration for Arbor Day.
