10 Things to Do This Weekend (Sept. 28-30)
Why some may call it found art or upcycling, transforming everyday objects and mass market commodities into something more imaginative and subversive goes back to Duchamp and hasn’t lost any of its power or punch. This exhibit features the work of contemporary artists Jessica Dance, Gil Yefman, Andrea Pritschow, David Gabbard, and Natalie Baxter using soft sculpture “to explore issues around consumer culture, social conventions, and artistic tradition.” Exhibit is located in the Basile Gallery at the Herron School of Art and Design. Free. Check website for times, the show runs through December 12.
